Editing Extras (section)

===Instructions===

  <li>If you are already in the “Create Product” window skip to step 3a. If you are not in that window continue to step 2.</li>
  <li>On the navigation menu (left-hand side) click “Extras” and click “Products” this will open a new tab titled “Product”</li>
  <li>Within the products tab (upper left-hand corner) click the “Create” button. A new window will open up called “Create Product” or if you are in the “Create Hardware” window, basic tab in the “Product” section, click the star button.</li>

      <li>Enter the manufacturer name of the product in the “Name” field</li>
        <ol type="i">
          <li>Examples: Dell, Oracle, EMC, HP, etc.</li>
        </ol>
      <li>Enter any additional information about the manufacturer name of the product in the “Details” field</li>
      <li>Click “Create”</li>
    </ol>
  <li>In the products tab, click the “Create” button or if you are in the “Create Hardware” window, basic tab, “Product” section, click the star button.</li>

      <li>Enter the category name of the product in the “Name” field</li>
        <ol type="i">
          <li>Examples: Server, Storage, Network, or Infrastructure</li>
        </ol>
      <li>Enter any additional information about the category name of the product in the “Details” field</li>
      <li>Select the manufacturer in the “Parent Product” drop-down menu</li>
        <ol type="i">
          <li>Examples: Dell, Oracle, EMC, HP, etc.</li>
        </ol>
      <li>Click “Create”</li>
    </ol>
  <li>In the products tab, click the “Create” button or if you are in the “Create Hardware” window, basic tab, “Product” section, click the star button.</li>

      <li>Enter the model name of the product in the “Name” field</li>
        <ol type="i">
          <li>Examples: ProLiant, PowerEdge, SunFire, etc.</li>
        </ol>
      <li>Enter any additional information about the model name of the product in the “Details” field</li>
      <li>Select the “Manufacturer – Category” in the “Parent Product” drop-down menu</li>

          <li>Examples: Dell-Server</li>
        </ol>
      <li>Click “Create”</li>
    </ol>
  <li>In the products tab, click the “Create” button or if you are in the “Create Hardware” window, basic tab, “Product” section, click the star button.</li>

      <li>Enter the model number name of the product in the “Name” field</li>
        <ol type="i">
          <li>Examples: DL385, 2900, X4250, etc.</li>
        </ol>
      <li>Enter any additional information about the model number name of the product in the “Details” field</li>
      <li>Select the “Manufacturer – Category – Model” in the “Parent Product” drop-down menu</li>

          <li>Examples: Dell-Server-ProLiant</li>
        </ol>
      <li>Click “Create”</li>
    </ol>
  <li>In the products tab, click the “Create” button or if you are in the “Create Hardware” window, basic tab, “Product” section, click the star button.</li>

      <li>Enter the generation / version name of the product in the “Name” field</li>
        <ol type="i">
          <li>Examples: G5, V2, 7.1, etc</li>
        </ol>
      <li>Enter any additional information about the qualifier name of the product in the “Details” field</li>
      <li>Select the “Manufacturer – Category – Model – Model Number” in the “Parent Product” drop-down menu</li>

          <li>Example: Dell-Server-Proliant-DL385</li>
        </ol>
      <li>Click “Create”</li>
    </ol>
  <li>You can create as many levels of information as needed, but the 5 levels we have just described seem to cover almost all instances of product tracking</li>
