==Creating a Trend Template== A trend template tells Elicit to create a data series based upon the data that is in a separate data series. The new data series is created by choosing either the average, maximum, median, minimum, or sum of the data series being polled. [[File:Trend Template.PNG]] ===Instructions=== <ol> <li>If you are already in the “Create Trend Template” window skip to step 3a. If you are not in that window continue to step 2.</li> <li>On the navigation menu (left-hand side) click “Extras” and click “Trend Templates” this will open a new tab titled “Trend Templates”</li> <li>Within the trend templates tab (upper left-hand corner) click the “Create” button. A new window will open up called “Create Trend Template.”</li> <ol type="a"> <li>Enter the name of the trend template in the “Name” field</li> <ol type="i"> <li>Examples: Past 3 Months, Past Day, etc.</li> </ol> <li>Enter any additional information about the trend template in the “Details” field</li> <li>Select what “Operation” you would like to perform on the data from the drop-down menu</li> <ol type="i"> <li>Average, Count, Maximum, Minimum, Median, Sum</li> </ol> <li>Define time period in which you would like the data to trend in the “Time Period” field</li> <ol type="i"> <li>Example: 30 Days, 1 Month, 24 Hours</li> </ol> <li>Snap to Date</li> <ol type="i"> <li>Leave as red x if you do not want to “reset” after each time period (selected in step D)</li> <ol type="A"> <li>For example if you set the time period to 1 month, this template would include values since the same day during the previous month</li> <li>Using these options, calculating a trend on the 13th of this month would include values from the 13th of the previous month through the 13th of this month</li> </ol> <li>Change to a green check mark if you want to “reset” after each time period (selected in step D)</li> <ol type="A"> <li>For example if you set the time period to 1 month, this template would “reset” after each month</li> <li>A Data Series with a Derived Data Start Date of July 1st, 2014 that uses this Trend Template with a 1 Month period and Snap to Date would “reset” on the first of each following month</li> <li>Using these options, calculating a trend on the 13th of this month would include values from the 1st of this month through the 13th of this month</li> </ol> </ol> <li>Click "Create"</li> </ol> </ol> <br />
